1841-1893. 영국. Aesthetic artist 

아버지와 형이 화가였습니다. 형은 바다의 화가로 유명한 Henry Moore 랍니다.

스무살 즈음에 로마와 파리를 여행하였으며 점차로 심미적인 스타일로 그림을 그려나갔다고 합니다.
그림을 보시면 아시겠지만 노랑빛깔과 부드러운 옷의 질감이나 옛 그리이스와 로마양식을 주로 그렸다고 합니다. 

'심미적인 화가'의 정의를 뭐라해야 하나요.
그림을 보아하니 의미심장한 그림이기보다는 심미적 화가란 역시 색채의 마술사이기에 그 색채의 독특함을 말하는 것 같은데...
